Aims
The aim of this module is to teach students the underlying concepts and examples of spoken language processing and generation. This module first examines how spoken language processing systems are connected to downstream applications. The module then discusses speech synthesis systems to enable system feedback to users.
Objectives:
On completion, students should:
- understand the challenges of integrating speech recognition and language processing
- be able to develop (from examples) spoken language processing systems
- understand speech synthesis systems.
